Hegemony and Films research

 1. Why do you believe the Media and specifically films are effective in communicating Hegemonic ideals?

2. What hegemonic ideas might you communicate in your media products?

1) Films are specially effective at communicating Hegemonic ideals, due to how these ones reinforce specific hidden ideologies during the course of the film's narrative. For example, the film released in 2018 named Venom efficiently critiques how powerful men owners of huge successful businesses can cruelly bully those below their feet in society. Furthermore, the director of the movie makes use of the institution method called coercion, by fluently twisting the social media to their advantage in order to severely expand its given ideals towards the target audience.

2) Often Conglomerates take advantage of films with the main objective of effectively spreading a variety of different ideologies in hopes of convincing the audience. A clear example of this is how companies include unnoticed political opinions. A way to do this is by manipulating the propp characters in order to connect with the viewer at the same time as you entertain him/her (Blumer+Katz Theory).
